How subscriptions work, how you cancel, and when refunds apply — under UK consumer law.
Effective: April 2026 · Governing law: England & Wales
Qalbii offers paid subscription tiers — currently Gold (£19.99 / month or £156 / year) and Diamond (£39.99 / month or £227 / year) — that unlock additional features on top of the free plan. Pricing and features are described on the plans page.
When you subscribe, payment is processed by Stripe Payments UK Ltd, our third-party payment provider. We do not store your card details; Stripe does, in a PCI-compliant environment. Your card is charged immediately on subscribing and again at the start of each subsequent billing period.
Features are unlocked as soon as the payment is confirmed (usually within seconds).
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly, depending on the plan you chose) unless you cancel before the period ends. The renewal is charged at the same rate as the current period, unless we have notified you of a price change at least 30 days in advance.
We will send a reminder email 3 days before a yearly renewal and 24 hours before a monthly renewal so you have a chance to cancel if you no longer wish to continue.
Under the UK Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you normally have a 14-day right to cancel a digital services contract and receive a full refund.
Important: When you click "Subscribe" on our plans page, you expressly consent to us beginning to provide the digital service (premium features unlocked in the app) immediately. By doing so, you acknowledge that you lose the 14-day right to cancel once the service has begun, as permitted under Regulation 37(1)(a) of the same Regulations. If you want to preserve the cancellation right, do not begin using premium features until after the 14-day period.
You can still cancel auto-renewal at any time (see section 4) — this waiver applies only to the refund for the current, already-started billing period.
You can cancel your subscription at any time in one of two ways:
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep premium features until that date, then drop to the free plan. No further charges are made.
Because premium features begin immediately on subscription (see section 3), we do not generally refund the current billing period once it has started. We will, however, consider a refund in the following circumstances:
Refunds are processed back to the original payment method within 5-10 business days of approval.
If a renewal payment fails (card expired, insufficient funds, bank decline), Stripe will retry automatically over several days. During this time your account is marked past due: features remain available as a grace period, and we send email reminders with a link to update your payment method.
If we cannot collect payment within 7 days of the original due date, premium features are paused and your plan reverts to free. You can resume service at any time by adding a new payment method and renewing.
If you believe a charge is incorrect, contact us first through the Qalbii support centre so the request can be bound to your account and reviewed securely.
If you initiate a chargeback with your bank before contacting us, we may suspend your account pending resolution, in line with Stripe's dispute process. Please give us a chance to resolve the issue first.
If you remain dissatisfied, UK consumers can also escalate to the Citizens Advice consumer service or the appropriate Alternative Dispute Resolution body.
